The article has some typos. It says that this took place in "western Kentucky." They clearly meant to say "Middle Earth." Also, the arcticle claims that these dwarves are from the Old Order Swartzentruber Amish sect, but they really look much more like Broadbeam Dwafs originally from The Blue Mountains.
